About: Erin Winn, a Darwin Daicoff, Perkins Schneider, and Harry Nalbandian Fellow, graduated from Kansas State University in 2013 with degrees in political science and nonprofit leadership studies. In college, Erin founded an advocacy and social justice organization, where she organized awareness raising and lobbying events, helped teach freshman level leadership classes, and served as a student ambassador for the K-State Foundation. She was also a finalist for the Truman Scholarship. Erin was a 2013 Teach for America corps member in Memphis, TN. After teaching middle school Reading for 3 years at a charter school in Memphis, Erin became the director of literacy. Erin then served as the advisor for academic accountability and quality for the Office of Charter Schools under Shelby County Schools. In this role, Erin managed the academic performance of 55 schools, developing both accountability metrics and progressive policies geared toward increasing collaboration and student achievement.
