About: Nicole Macias, an Allan Simms, Ethan Allen, and Rachel Hut Bremen Scholar, graduated from Haskell Indian Nations University in 2013 with a B.A. in American Indian Studies. She has worked at the New Mexico Indian Affairs Department, the first cabinet-level Indian affairs department in the nation, to streamline and enhance communications between the state and the 22 tribes of New Mexico as the public relations coordinator. Before entering the MPA program, she worked for the Navajo Nation Office of the President and Vice President as the Senior Public Information Officer. She played an integral role to ensure that the President and Vice President’s voice was heard locally, regionally and nationally. She is an intern in the City of Eudora in the City Manager’s office.
