John has a master's degree in public service and administration from the Bush School of Government at Texas A&M University and a bachelor's degree in political science from Pittsburg State University. He is a certified internal auditor (CIA) and certified government auditing professional (CGAP). Prior to joining KU in December 2012, he was the city auditor for Olathe, KS and held audit positions with Sprint Nextel and the Kansas Legislative Division of Post Audit.
