Chante Mitchell, a Richard Chesney and Wildgen Family Scholar, graduated from Washburn University with a B.A. in Corporate Communications and a minor in Leadership Studies. She interned at Westar Energy in Topeka, Kansas with the Talent Management and Diversity team in the Human Resources Department, focusing on recruitment, educational outreach, and collaboration. She served as a teacher and mentor through the Children’s Defense Fund’s Freedom School outreach, which is a youth literacy program, through the AmeriCorps Bonner Leader program. Chante is a volunteer for Youth Entrepreneurs of Kansas and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is currently an intern with WaterOne in Johnson County, assisting both the Finance and Communication departments and working with Financial Planning and Customer Relations. Contact email:
